Job Description
This is a part time seasonal position where an employee is hired for a limited period during any calendar year.
Starting Pay $10.00/ Hour
GENERAL PURPOSE
To set up mosquito surveillance traps used for the West Nile Virus program in order to identify and test mosquitoes.
Main Job Tasks and Responsibilities
- Set up traps according to the procedure at different locations previously identified before 8:00pm

- A list of locations to pick up traps is provided for each evening
- The number of traps to set up may vary every day according to the season
- Keep accurate records all data gathered during a trapping session
- Coordinate with the morning Trapping Technician to report any changes to the schedule or trapping locations
- Maintain traps including proper care of CO2 cylinders, regulators, and batteries
- Perform any other related duties as required by management
Education and Experience
- Education equivalent to high school diploma (appropriate work experience which will develop a level of achievement and literacy equivalent to a high school education may be substituted for the required education)
- Should have or be trained to have a working knowledge and understanding of:
- Entomology or other closely-related field with experience in vector surveillance and control
- Application of scientific principles to practical situations
- Basic knowledge of computer software (Outlook, Microsoft Office, etc.)
- Operate specialized equipment
